Czech Republic crossing

Despite most of our team is getting to the tempo slowly, Pelcík and Kulkys are in full shape. After coming back from the World Champs in Australia they broke record time in crossing the Czech republic race. 350km in 18 hours. As Pelcík says, it was a pure death…

Finally Jistebnice, seem we can do it. Michal, slower for a while please. It seems cramps are coming. And so we lowered our tempo by 0,5km / h. Pity, maybe we could make it under 18 hours. But we were happy we did it anyway. In some moments it seemed, we would not be able continue…

We started from Šluknov at 5am. Not really sure about our journey. Finally it was some 15km longer than expected. Unfortunately we started too fast. Coming close to Prague I start to feel cramps. It is really warm and still a lot over 200km to go. Being some 5km away from my home I want to abandon this stupid race. But we go on. Just focusing on the closest points. Let´s try Zvole. OK. Jílové, Monínec – here we walk. Hilly hell. Finally in Jistebnice hills are over. We kick around České Budějovice and with coming dark we are in Český Krumlov. Just 40km to go. 300km in legs.

Iam getting pretty cold at the last stop in Rožmberk. Michal is suffering with hunger. Higher and even higher we climb and finally we are in Vyšší Brod. Finish. I feel Iam close to death. I feel pain in legs and arms, swollen ankles and damaged toes. With crisis of 200km we made it in really good time of 18 hours. But it was damned hard…
